Spring 2 Newsletter

{item_alt_tag}

Hi,

Welcome to my first Newsletter of 2026. It's been a great start to the year, everyone came back and settled into school life almost instantly, as if we'd never been away. I hope you enjoy reading about what we've been up to so far and remember all the important dates for the term ahead are listed towards the end.

New Staff

Welcome to Mrs Rathe, our new Year 3 teacher and Mr Giles, our new teaching assistant in Year 6. I'm sure you'll all make them both feel extremely welcome as they join our Kingsley team.

Congratulations!

We have received some lovely news: Mrs Foote and Mrs Paterson are both expecting babies, which are both due at the end of the Spring Term this year.
Final dates are not yet fully arranged but we are anticipating that they will both be leaving Kingsley Primary School for their maternity at the end of March. They will of course be greatly missed.
We have already covered Mrs Patterson's Year 1 class and plans are in place to provide a strong replacement for Mrs Foote's Year 2 class for the remainder of the academic year. We will of course inform you once these plans are finalised.
I know you will want to join me in congratulating Mrs Foote and Mrs Paterson and their families and wish them the very best at this exciting time for them.

Chicks

Year 2 and Year 5 have had a great time this week watching eggs hatch into very cute, fluffy chicks. Their classrooms have been very popular for the whole school and the children have learnt first-hand about life-cycles and the wonder of nature. Who knew science could be so egg-citing!

VR Headsets

The whole of Key Stage 2 have been enjoying learning through our VR Headsets. They have been taken back in time to Ancient Rome, explored Icelandic islands and have even taken a trip through the human digestive system. It's been a great way to bring learning to life and take the children to places they could never imagine.

Kingsley in the Community

Just before Christmas, our Year 3, 4 and 5's visited local care homes to serenade the residents with Christmas carols. I've received some extremely positive feedback from the care homes telling me how respectful and polite our pupils were. We are Kingsley!

As usual, our children have been very busy attending various sporting events across the town, learning new skills, making new friends and having lots of fun.
