Hi,
In this most wonderful time of the year, as Autumn turns to Winter, the temperature drops, the nights get longer, clothes get woolier and our thoughts turn to Christmas and other festive celebrations. I have included all the important dates in the diary below so you know what's going on in school at this incredibly busy time of year. But before you think about Christmas, let's catch up on everything that has been happening here at Kingsley and celebrate some of our amazing members of staff, in particular: Mrs Wright, Miss Checkley and Mr Cox.

School Disco
Last term we all enjoyed going to the Halloween Discos. As you can see from the pictures, children had lots of fun dressing up, munching sweets and dancing the night away. A special big thank you goes out to Mrs Davis for all the hard work she put into organising and setting up all the discos. We are Kingsley!

Cinema Visits
Last week Years 2 - 5 visited Vue Cinema to see the films The Missing Link and Paddington in Peru. The tickets were sourced by Mrs Moore (thank you!) and were given to us free from the charity Into Film. Our lovely PTA then offered to pay for the coaches to get everyone there and back safely. The only things the children had to bring were the snacks! Although some of our younger children found the escalators a challenge, everyone enjoyed their morning out of school and it led to some great writing when we got back.

Interfaith Week
This week we have been celebrating Interfaith Week. The theme this year is about community: together we serve. The children have been learning how different religions come together to celebrate the incredible diversity of faiths and beliefs across our school community.

|
Safety Assemblies
Our Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) came in last term to deliver an assembly to Key Stage Two around staying safe Trick or Treating and during Fireworks Night. Our pupils engaged really well, asked some thoughtful questions and listened to each other's responses respectfully.

Christmas Card Competition
Congratulations to Megan Brown, in Year 2, for designing our school's winning Christmas Card. This challenge was set by Lucy Rigby, MP for Northampton North, and Megan's entry will go head-to-head with other primary schools. The winning design will feature on the front of her official parliamentary Christmas Card to be sent out across the country. Good luck Megan!

Remembrance Day
Thank you to all the children and staff who gathered outside in the playground to observe a minute's silence for Remembrance Day at 11am on 11th November. We were even treated to a spine-tingling rendition of the Last Post by the multi-talented Mr Cox on his cornet. It was a very emotional day and impeccably observed by all. Lest we forget.

Head Teacher of the Year
We are extremely excited and proud to share that our wonderful Executive Headteacher Mr Cox has been nominated for Headteacher of the Year at the Northamptonshire Education Awards! This recognition is testament to his commitment, dedication and leadership of Kingsley where he has created an inclusive and aspirational culture where all our pupils are encouraged to take flight and soar to their full potential. Good luck Mr Cox!

Breast Cancer Awareness
Mrs Wright has been working at Kingsley for over 10 years. In that time, she has helped countless children. I am very proud to say that she has been invited by Leicester University Hospital to give a talk to women from different ethnic backgrounds about Breast Cancer and women's healthcare needs. She will be playing a crucial role in reducing stigma and empowering women's health.

Northampton Guardians Award
Miss Checkley is a dedicated Teaching Assistant who gives her all to helping our children from Monday to Friday. Unbelievably, she then finds the energy to help out with Northampton Guardians, volunteering in Northampton Town Centre on Friday and Saturday nights, supporting the safety and wellbeing of those enjoying a night out. I am very proud to say that they have just been awarded the King's Award for Voluntary Services, the MBE for volunteer groups. Well done Miss Checkley.

Sporting Events
This term we took part in Northampton School Sports' Cross Country Run in Abington Park. In the run-up Mrs Driscoll led the children around the field during lunchtimes to prepare them for the big day. Also, Year 5 took part in a multi-sports festival at Northampton School for Girls.
