Summer 1 Newsletter

Hi,

Since we came back from the Easter break, we've managed to pack quite a lot into such a short term. Here's a little taste of what's been happening at Kingsley as we move into the summer.

Summer Safety

At the beginning of term, Years 5 and 6 had an assembly delivered by our PCSO (police), the Fire Brigade and London Northwestern Railways. They explored ways in which we can all enjoy the summer in a safe way.

Many Year 5's entered a competition to design a Summer Safety poster for schools across North and West Northamptonshire. Good luck!

Caterpillars

Children in Reception have been watching caterpillars slowly change. If you see a child in Early Years, make sure to ask them what happens as a caterpillar grows and what they turn into. It's something that still amazes me to this day and I think always will.

Big Sing

There's still time to buy tickets to see our Year 4's perform alongside all 11 schools from our academy trust, InMAT, at the Big Sing on Wednesday 21st May at the Royal and Derngate Theatre in Northampton. NMPAT: Big Sing - Royal & Derngate

I've been told that there are still tickets available and I'm sure it will be a night to remember.

Fundraising

Thank you to everyone who donated towards our non-school uniform day at the end of last term. We raised £221.40 for the McCarthy-Dixon Foundation.

After half-term, I will be taking a group of children to their distribution hub to pack up food parcels and learn about some of the amazing work that they do to support our local community.

Share a Story

On Thursday 22nd May you are welcome to drop in to your child's class and share a story with them at the beginning of the day. Lots of you came last term, so I hope even more can come this time round.

Sporting Events

A group of Year 4 girls attended a Basketball Festival at Northampton School for Girls (NSG), walking up to the school to enjoy a jam-packed morning. Demonstrating the Kingsley Values of Endeavour, Respect and Synergy, our children were brilliant and worked well alongside girls from Parklands Primary as well as taking direction from NSG's young leaders.

Over at Moulton College, children in Key Stage 2 enjoyed an athletics day learning different track and field. Year 3 and 4 also took part in a Quick Sticks Hockey taster session.

I'm looking forward to seeing lots of you at our school Sports Days (dates below).

Year 6 SATs

And finally I would like to send my best wishes to Year 6 who started their end of Key Stage 2 tests (AKA SATs) this week. They have come into school prepared, confident and calm and I can't tell you how proud of them I am. From everyone here at Kingsley, good luck to all of you.
