Hi,

Welcome to Kingsley's first newsletter of the new school year. It's been a fantastic start to the term. Our new Reception pupils have taken to school like ducks to water! We've had new starters in almost every year group and they have all fitted in seamlessly. Everyone else, children and staff, has been a credit to the school working hard to make this a year to remember. We are Kingsley!

Welcome

I would like to warmly welcome Miss Mason, our new Reception teacher and Miss Wheatley, our new Year 4 teacher. I hope you will join me in wishing them every success during their time working here at our fantastic school.

School Spruce Up

You have probably noticed that over the summer holidays we have made a lot of improvements to the school. The Reception outdoor area has brand-new playground markings, the outside of the school has new signs and the exterior walls have been painted, and inside the school many areas have been freshened up with new flooring and freshly painted walls. New fencing around parts of the playground has improved privacy and, I'm sure you'll agree, it looks much smarter.

As usual, we never sit still, so lots of plans are in the pipeline to continue to improve the school. Watch this space!

Phonics Parent Workshop

Thank you to everyone who attended either the in-person or online phonics workshops, led by our phonics expert Miss Scutchings, to show our new Reception parents how we teach early reading at Kingsley.

Values Ambassadors

Congratulations to: Freya in 3MR, Elianne in 3MSN, Andrea in 4AB, Oliver in 4TW, Jordan and Makaya in 5AB, Iola in 5LL, Joseph in 6BS and Maeve in 5SdS. They have had their applications approved to become Values Ambassadors, demonstrating that they show our school values all the time. They were given a licence in Celebration Assembly which allows them to nominate children who show our school values to receive their school values badge. It's a great privilege and I wish them every success in being positive role models at Kingsley, promoting our school values.

Allergies

As part of our commitment to keeping all pupils safe and in accordance with Benedict's Law, we are asking parents/carers to complete and return an allergy information form to provide us with up-to-date information regarding your child's allergies or food intolerances.

Benedict's Law highlights the importance of schools having accurate and up-to-date information about pupils with allergies so that appropriate support and emergency procedures can be put in place.

This form must be completed for ALL children. If your child does not have any allergies, please tick the ‘no allergies’ box and sign the declaration.

Your child has brought the form home already but there are spares available from the office if required.

Please return the form to the office by Wednesday 30th September.
