Summer 2 Newsletter

Hi,

As we come to the end of this school year, it's difficult to say how proud I am of each and every child who comes to Kingsley. Every day they come in and give their all. And this would not be possible without the wonderful staff who work tirelessly day in day out, always with a smile. This also would not happen without the support of our parents who know just what to say to lift our spirits when we need them lifted. Thank you everyone. We are Kingsley!

I hope you all have a great summer holiday. For those leaving us, can I wish them every success for the future. To the rest of you, see you in September.

Hot Weather

Thank you to everyone who supported us through a challenging week last week. As the temperatures soared, we put in place lots of measures to keep the children safe and the school remained open.

I understand some of you kept your children off school due to concerns that the classrooms were too hot. That is why we have bought air conditioning units for every classroom. The forecast over the next few weeks is for more hot weather, so I hope this reassures parents that we are doing everything that we can to keep classrooms cool and ensuring that no child misses out on their education.

Transfer Morning and Meet The Teacher

On Monday 6th July, your child will spend the morning with their new class teacher for next year, in their new classroom. I will send out the list on Friday afternoon. After school on Monday 6th you can have the chance to meet your child's new class teacher. Just pop in to their new classroom where you'll have the opportunity to ask any questions and put a face to a name.

Year 6 Enterprise Day

Year 6's annual Enterprise Day was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed playing the games they had prepared, getting tattoos and eating some delicious treats.

It is also a great opportunity for the Year 6's to show off their entrepreneurial side, learn about managing finances and raise money towards their subsidised leaver's hoodies and day out to Drayton Manor Park.

Educational Visits

The Summer term is always popular for educational visits and this term was no different.

Year 2 and Year 3 visited Warwick Castle, Year 1 went to Hammerton Zoo and Year 4 had a great day at Woburn Safari Park.

Kingsley's Got Talent

The acts have been chosen for Kingsley's annual Talent Show to be held on Thursday 16th July. If your child is lucky enough to be performing, you will receive and invitation to come and see them.

I'm looking forward to seeing the variety of talent that we have at our wonderful school.

Year 6 Residential 2027

The current Year 5's can now book on to our end of Year 6 Residential. We will be visiting a brand new site, PGL's Green Park, in the beautiful Chiltern hills, in July 2027.

I do hope that as many children can come as this is a fantastic opportunity to try new activities, make life-long memories and have the best fun ever.

Sensory Garden

I hope you have all had the chance to see our new Sensory garden in the courtyard outside the hall.

It has proved very popular with our children especially in the warm weather.

Thank you to my lovely wife for planting up the wonderful array of beautiful smelling herbs we have at either side of the sensory path.

Staffing Updates

At the end of this academic year we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Goodridge, our Early Years lead. She has been promoted to the role of Assistant Headteacher at The Abbey Primary, a school that is in our academy trust. Good luck and come back to visit any time.

We also say goodbye to two long-standing members of staff, Miss Saima and Miss Parven. I wish them every success for the future.

In September we welcome two new teachers, Miss Mason in Reception and Miss Wheatley in Year 4. They will both be here for Transfer Day on Monday.
