Children experienced lots of fun at Forest Schools. We played lots of listening games as well as discovering our environment and learning to recognise plants and look out for signs of animals that visit out Forest School.
All the children including Reception have thoroughly enjoyed the new den making equipment and indeed towards the end of term became a dab hand at putting it up; which was just as well as it did seem to rain rather a lot. We made lots of craft things and went on scavenger hunts. Children invented their own games, climbed trees, learnt how to handle equipment safely and of course no session goes without rolling down the hill.
We have had out den making equipment installed. This was partly funded through the hard work of the PTA and the summer fayre. This year KS2 as well as Year one and Reception are using the site.
The children asked if they could make potions this week. As it was so sunny we built a shelter to create some shade. The children collected flowers, grass and leaves and added these to their coloured water. They came up with some magic phrases before sprinkling the trees with their potion. After this we played some listening games and had some fun rolling down THE HILL.
We have been doing lots of different things in Forest School from bug hunting to tent building.
Miss Gallone is developing our Forest Schools curriculum and working with children in Reception and Year 1.
