Year 6 Mrs Taylor
Welcome to Year 6.
What a great start we have had already this term, with some hard work and fabulous ideas already emerging.
The children spent the first week getting to know their new mixed class and finding out about topics and themes in Year 6.
Our first theme this year is 'The Victorians' and the class are currently learning about the Coronation of Queen Victoria. We are also reading the book 'Street Child' by Berlie Doherty which all the children are thoroughly enjoying. We have created some Freeze frames based on a Chapter called the 'Stick Man'.
We are looking forward to going to Holdenby House on Monday ( 24/9/18) and can't wait to see you all in your Victorian outfits. If you thought we were strict then wait until you meet the staff at Holdenby!
Don't forget that Homework ( Victorian Inventions) is due in on 28.9.18,
Photos from our Saints Trip.
Archery, Fencing, Guided Tour, changing rooms and some Tag Rugby fun.
We had a great time at Muddy Education Today. Lots of new skills learnt; from den building, orienteering and weaving.
Here are some photos of Sports Day today. Well done to all the competitors and thank you to all the Parents and Carers that came to support them. We have some talented and very determined children!!
Year 6 have created some outdoor art in the style of John Banovich.
Last week the Whole school took part in a 'Sponsored Bounce', to raise money for our pledges. The weather was against us, but luckily for Year 6 we managed to complete our bouncing successfully. Thank you for any sponsor money you generated.
Year 6 were busy leading up to Easter with our Easter egg challenge. Could we build safe aircrafts for our eggs to fly in using only recycled materials?
Some of us are off to The Pinnacle Centre for the day today. Have a look at their website:
